Little Gem loving life

As promised here is an updated photo from the Little Gem Garden. 

The garden in July is slightly unkempt as we have had a joyful long rainy season which has really helped everything grow and grow and grow.

You'll note I have also put my three strawberry pots here as they were getting either too much sun or not enough sun or not enough water. They're on the drip irrigation now. 

The Little Gem garden is not watered on a regular basis (sorry) and it has fared just fine although the coprosma is brown-tinged, it might not make it. 

The hellebores have had their flowers all this time!

And the magnolia itself has had several stunning flowers. I'm still trying to work out what shape it wants to be and how tall I want it. It's not the LITTLE Little Gem tree I imagined it was going to be when I planted it three years ago. It is planted directly into the clay-soil below. 

I will also note that after the Little Gem garden renovation it lost a few leaves but didn't seem to suffer at all for having it's roots dug up.
