Under the Little Gem

It was a cold day and I'm not sure why but I decided to ask Chat GPT for some gardening advice. My Little Gem magnolia tree brick surround was APPARENTLY saying DIY pretty hard. It had the potential to become much more professional and considered. 

I don't need much of an excuse to take myself off to the plant centre. 

I selected a few native or New Zealand inspired plants to place here alongside the existing Hellbore Christmas roses (Mine are run of the mill Petit Doll from recollection). 

The first and backbreaking task was to remove the gravel and the bricks then dig a semi-oval shaped surround. I found a piece of garden-edging just the right length and you can see the sunken island effect.

It makes the entrance to our shop so welcoming. 

I purchased the Little Gem magnolia tree in October 2023 in memory of my father who passed away a month before.
