A Knitting Circle for Beginners (and the Wool-Curious)

There’s something deeply comforting about the rhythm of knitting — the quiet click of needles, the soft weight of wool in your hands, the gentle flow of conversation. And while I sell beautifully made knitwear (and I hope you’ll still buy it!), I’ve long had a secret: I can’t knit very well myself.

But lately, I’ve been thinking… why not learn together?

This autumn, I’m hosting a very relaxed, small-group knitting circle on Sunday afternoons at our Wool Pocket shop. Think of it less as a formal workshop and more like a cozy gathering — a place to learn the basics, share stories, and get a little lost in the lovely loop-and-purl rhythm of knitting.

We’ll follow a simple beginner-friendly video course (in English or Japanese — or both!), so no experience is necessary. I’ll be learning right alongside you. We’ll go at our own pace, drink tea, and celebrate even the lumpiest first scarves.

Details:

• Where: Inside our cozy shop
• When: Sunday afternoons, once every three weeks or so from October 19th. 
• What to bring: Nothing! We’ll provide needles and wool to get started.
• Cost: Free or small materials fee — to be confirmed
• Language: Beginner-friendly and bilingual where possible

Whether you’ve never picked up a pair of needles, or you learned long ago and want to return to it, all are welcome. This is about slowing down, making something by hand, and reconnecting — with wool, with winter, with each other.
